A barn dwelling for Fuchs Farm

In this residential project to develop a new barn dwelling, Blumer Lehmann supported the client in the role of general contractor. The designs for the building were drawn up in our architecture department.

The residential annex carries on the form of the barn in its size and dimensions. Striking, vertical timbers – known as lesenes – create a visual separation between the residential building and the barn with their shift in regularity along the facade.

The timber design gives the building its character inside as well; with exposed beams, floors and ceilings as well as interior elements made of timber. The barn dwelling was planned and built within two years and meets the Minergie standard.
