New cube-shaped building for lectures and events

The architects took inspiration from traditional orangeries for the construction of the new lecture room in the botanical garden in St. Gallen. The cube-shaped lecture room therefore consists of a timber framework with large windows. Various events will take place in the bright, modern room. 

We produced and assembled the skeleton timber construction, or post and mullion construction, within eight weeks, just in time for the start of high season at the botanical garden. The visible timber supporting structure made of laminated timber creates a comfortable atmosphere inside the room, which has a floor area of 133 m2. Cupboards act as a partition for the chair storage area and the acoustic ceiling with wood wool insulation ensures pleasant acoustics in the room.

Plants are responsible for providing shade. Bindweeds and creepers grow up 80 taut wire cables around the timber cube. The roof will also be green. Over time, an orchid meadow should grow on it.
