Modular timber build creates space at school
Giessen, DE
The three-storey extension will provide sufficient space for the Landgraf-Ludwig-Gymnasium since summer 2023. The outdoor facilities will be constructed by the city of Giessen after completion of the building.
Blumer Lehmann realised the three-storey extension as general contractor.
Three classrooms with a healthy indoor climate are located on each floor of the extension.
The modular building is ecologically and technically sustainable: with reusable wooden modules and a district heating supply as well as a photovoltaic system on the green roof.
The 42 wooden modules were prefabricated in our factory in Grossenlüder and assembled on site into a three-storey building in just a few days.
The new building offers space for an IT room, sanitary, storage and technical rooms.
The wood for the school module construction comes from local forestry, and many surfaces are made of this sustainable material.
The modern classrooms offer a pleasant indoor climate, thanks to ventilation systems, daylight, good room acoustics and lots of wood.
