Even when planning the house, the clients and planning team were already thinking about the future. The ground floor is completely wheelchair friendly, which means the house can later be used as a retirement home, true to the definition of a multi-generational house. The unique floor plan and the striking hip roof of the eight-room house in Niederbüren are genuine eye-catchers. Another design element of this single-family home is immediately noticeable: the rhomboid facade cladding that extends up to the undersides of the roof. Our project team was in charge of construction cost planning, construction design, production, timber construction and assembly of this extraordinary single-family home.
Sitting on top of a reinforced concrete basement, two floors constructed from prefabricated timber elements provide 300 m2 of living space – plenty of room for generous subdivision into an office, living and dining area, kitchen with pantry, three wet rooms, master bedroom with dressing room and three spacious children’s rooms Wood plays a key role as a material both internally and externally. The wide oak parquet strips, combined with the handrails and treads on the staircase and additional wooden accents, create a pleasant living environment in the restrained white interior. Externally, the horizontally arranged facade in European spruce/fir wood emphasises the unpretentious building design.
