Historic Sittermühle building extensively renovated

The Sittermühle as it exists today was built as a granary in 1862. Since that time, the property has undergone numerous conversions and changes in use. The building’s most recent full internal and external renovation was completed in 2011.

The external appearance of the historic Sittermühle, with its wooden facade, remained virtually unchanged following the renovation. A new building based on timber construction was built within the existing building shell without altering the character of the building. The building’s existing historic partition wall was also retained and integrated. Today, the Sittermühle conforms to the Minergie standard. In addition to an apartment and guest rooms for the client, a library was established on the second floor. The first floor has been fitted out with a training room for photography and image processing as well as a large kitchen and meeting space. The rooms on the ground floor are used as studios.
